San Diego… knows how to get sticky.

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

The sticky promotional team is in San Diego, CA this week, promoting stickydrive and getting the word out.  We are on the SDSU campus all week, and if you are in town, come stop by and eat a donut with the sticky team.

An important social note:  The Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity (AEPi) is holding a fundraiser auction this Friday evening at their house on Campus Pl. at 9:00 PM.  Proceeds go to the Israel Cancer Research Foundation.  stickydrive is a major donor for the occaassion, and will be helping to host the event.  Please feel free to come and celebrate, donate to a worthy cause, and get sticky all in the same evening.

stickydrive tip of the day:  you probably already know that you can paste HTML code into a comment box on MySpace.  You may not know that you can paste that same code into a regular old email (like in Yahoo! mail or Hotmail) and send it off.  The recipient will have a link in their email that lets them view the scrapbook.  So even if people don’t have MySpace, they can still see your awesome scrapbooks.  Rebecca Shuster, stickydrive user 1028 sent us that tip; thanks Rebecca!

Signing off.  Please drive safe and, have a sticky day.  :)

Hi from the sticky mobile HQ.

Friday, March 24th, 2006

stickydrive is going through the roof, and that’s great. Thanks for all your support. We’re really happy to have you as users. Please keep spreading the word to everyone you know. You can send people an email right from the “Welcome” page.
You can also tell people to check out www.myspace.com/stickydrive – even if you don’t have a myspace account you can still view our page and get lots of info there.

Tip of the day:

When you download from the website, save to your desktop. Then run the installer (he postage stamp “sd” icon) and install stickydrive onto your flash drive. Click on the square to the right with the “…” on it to find your flas drive.

Today is a good day to stick

Hello everyone.  I want to say thanks to all the people who responded so quickly and joined us here at stickydrive.  We now have a good core of users, and based on your feedback, we are going to begin to really turn on the juice and spread the stickydrive word.  It would be great if y’all can pass the word along to your friends that they should get sticky.  There are lots of ways to do that too:

  • send them an email from your normal email service (Yahoo!, Hotmail, AOL, Outlook, etc.)
  • send them an email right out of the stickydrive interface
  • send them an email out of a MySpace scrapbook (tell a friend)

And there are several ways for people to get sticky:

  • got to www.stickydrive.com
  • go to www.myspace.com/stickydrive and click the “Register (get sticky)” link in a scrapbook

And finally, remember that when you want to get sticky you must:

  1. register
  2. then download the installer tool onto your PC
  3. and then install stickydrive onto your flash drive (you must browse and select your removable device as the target for installation)

If you ever have questions, comments, or you just want to talk feel free to email me at speiser@stickydrive.com

I hope everyone is having a sticky day.  :)

-David

Monday, March 20th, 2006

Well. We’ve finally arrived. Today stickydrive launches (softly.) We are opening our virtual doors and inviting in the public. As of noon today (12:00 PM Pacific time, Monday, March 20, 2006) stickydrive is available for download at:

www.stickydrive.com

Please go to the webpage, register your login information, and then click “get sticky.”

This is our Beta release, and the product is running sweet. You will be able to load MP3’s, photos, and all sorts of documents onto your flash drive. You will be able to load applications (like Skype, Firefox, and GAIM) onto your flash drive, and run them on other computers without downloads or installations. And you will be able to create scrapbooks to post on MySpace pages (either in comment boxes or in your own profile.)

The webpage has a “Help” area that includes an FAQ section (Frequently Asked Questions) and a pretty thorough description of all the different features and functions of stickydrive. If for some reason your question is not answered through the “Help” section, please don’t hesitate to send me an email:

speiser@stickydrive.com

Or, if you want to gush about how fantastic stickydrive is, I am happy to receive those emails as well.

Also, please feel free to post comments, thoughts, suggestions, questions or feedback to our forums. We will try to respond to all of your posts as quickly as possible. You can get to our forums form the link on our homepage, or go directly to:

bb.stickydrive.com/

If you are still confused about what exactly stickydrive is, please do one of the following:

  1. refer to our MySpace profile: www.myspace.com/stickydrive
  2. refer to our website “Help” section: http://www.stickydrive.com/support/
  3. or, send me an email: speiser@stickydrive.com and I will send you more information

We are excited to launch and thrilled to provide a fantastic, free application which will unleash your digital identity.

*Also, please note that this is a Beta release, and in downloading stickydrive you become part of our testing team. We expect stickydrive to run well, but we also expect you to find some small bugs. Please communicate with us and tell me what those bugs are. We will try to help you figure it out, and we WILL make changes based on your suggestions. Thanks for the help.

We’re launching!!!!!!

Monday, March 20th, 2006

Earlier this morning, I finished up the very last pieces of the stickydrive puzzle and now the moment has finally arrived – stickydrive beta is ready to be released to the world! — and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s been a little over 8 months since we started coding this project and it has come so far!

Thank you all for being so patient with us. I know we’ve been trying to launch for a few weeks now, but I hope you’ll see it was worth the wait.

So, open up your browsers to www.stickydrive.com and at 12-noon today, get sticky with the world!

I’m looking forward to hearing your feedback. Enjoy!
